GOD HAS GIVEN US THE VICTORY OVER THE "MIDIANITES" IN THE PROMISED LAND IN CHRIST - [Sermon Note]

Pastor Stephanie

Truth and lies are in the form of words.

We are to bear fruit in the Promised Land.

If we succumb to the lies, we won't be able to eat the fruits in the Promised Land.

How to make spirit-led decision? Recognise half lies and half truth

God has His ways of choosing His armies.

Wealth of the world belongs to the righteous.

Riches belongs to the righteous.

Claim back what belongs to us by covenant.

JUDGES 7:13 NIV

Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream.

“I had a dream,” he was saying.

“A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp.

It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed.”

The Devil is more afraid than us who knows our identity in Christ today.

We were meant to rule and reign in life.

Rule and reign over the enemies.

Rule and reign over our flesh, thoughts and fears.

The peace of God is for us to rule.

Without peace we cannot rule.

Believers who tithe today scares the Devil because blessings are coming in to them.

JUDGES 7:15 CEB

When Gideon HEARD the telling of the dream and its MEANING, he WORSHIPPED. Then he returned to the Israelite camp and SAID, “GET UP! The LORD HAS handed over the Midianite camp to you.”

Word of God spread through the word of mouth.

Speak and meditate what the Word of God says.

JUDGES 7:16 CEB

He divided the three hundred men into three units and equipped every man with a TRUMPET and an EMPTY JAR, with a TORCH inside each JAR.

JUDGES 7:17 CEB

“Now WATCH me,” he ordered them, “and DO WHAT I DO. When I get to the outpost of the camp, do just what I do.

We observe what Jesus do.

JUDGES 7:18 CEB

When I blow the trumpet, along with all who are with me, then you blow the trumpets, all of you surrounding the whole camp. And then SHOUT, ‘For the LORD and for GIDEON!’”

Because of His name, we have been given the victory.

JUDGES 7:19-20 CEB

So the three units BLEW their TRUMPETS and BROKE their JARS,

HOLDING the TORCHES with their left hands and blowing the trumpets in their RIGHT HANDS.

And they CALLED OUT, “A SWORD for the LORD and for GIDEON!”

JUDGES 7:21 CEB

Each man STOOD FAST in his POSITION around the camp, and the entire camp took off running, shouting, and fleeing.

JUDGES 7:23-24 CEB

The Israelites from Naphtali, Asher, and all of Manasseh were called out, and they CHASED AFTER the Midianites.

Then Gideon sent messengers into all of the Ephraim highlands, saying,

“GO DOWN to meet the Midianites and TAKE CONTROL of the Jordan’s waters as far as Beth-barah.”

So all the Ephraimite men were CALLED OUT, and they TOOK CONTROL of the Jordan’s waters as far as Beth-barah.

We no longer let the Devil chase after us.

Chase the devil out of people's lives.

Go take control of our lives.

Get up and speak!

Standing means declare God is for us and not against us.

Declare boldly the promises of God.

Cut off the source from where we are listening these lies and fears.

H7782 trumpets

Original: שׁפר שׁופר

Transliteration: shôphârshôphâr

Phonetic: sho-far'

horn, ram's horn

Origin: from H8231 in the original sense of incising From H8231 a cornet (as giving a clear sound) or curved horn:- cornet, trumpet.

Significance of the SHOFAR

- The SHOUT of GOD'S VICTORY

NUMBERS 10:8-10 NIV

“The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to BLOW the TRUMPETS.

This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.

When you go into BATTLE in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets.

Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.

Also at your TIMES of REJOICING —your appointed festivals and New Moon feasts—you are to SOUND the TRUMPETS over your burnt OFFERINGS and fellowship offerings, and they will be a MEMORIAL for you before your God.

I AM the LORD your GOD.”

The Ram's Horn - Shofar

GENESIS 22:13 NIV

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns.

He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

The shofar first brings to mind the ram caught in the thicket by its horns which Abraham sacrificed in place of his son Isaac at Mount Moriah.

this "Ram of God" -- prepared from the "foundation of the world" -- is a picture of substitutionary sacrifice of the God's Son for the sins of the world.

Indeed, the first occurrence of the word love in the Torah (אהבה, ahavah, in Gen. 22:2) refers to a father's love for his "only" son who was offered as a sacrifice, a clear foreshadowing of the greater love of God in the Gospel.

The root word of ahava is “ahav.”

The term ahav in Hebrew means, “to GIVE.”

True ahava, true love, is more concerned about giving than receiving.

Being the center of someone’s attention isn’t love.

And love isn’t about getting some feeling or fix.

Love is about giving.

God gave His time and devotion to us on the cross.

Ahava is about giving devotion and time.

GIVING is the VEHICLE of LOVE.

YAHUAH so loved the world that He GAVE His only Son.

Meaningful relationships have mutual giving.

Love may focus on receiving, but ahava is all about GIVING.

There is a difference.

The Hebrew word “ahava” is not an emotion but an action.

It is not something that happens “to you” but a condition that you create when you give.

You don’t “fall” in love – you GIVE LOVE!

The sacrificial redemption involved violent spiritual warfare between God and the Satan (Gen. 3:15).

For the believer in Yeshua, the blast of the shofar represents the shout of God's victoryנִצָּחוֹן) ) over the power of sin and death.

Blow the trumpet means shout, declare, speak it out!

People will see the light in us.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:17-18 TPT

When I revised my itinerary, was I vacillating?

Or do I make my plans with unprincipled motives, ready to flip-flop with a “yes” and a “no” in the same breath? Of course not!

For as GOD is TRUE to HIS WORD,

MY PROMISE to you was NOT a FICKLE “yes” when I meant “no.”

We cannot proceed in the Promised Land if we are fickle minded.

God had already conquered and given us the Promised Land.

Go by faith and not by fear.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:19 TPT

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he is the one whom Timothy, Silas, and I have preached to you—and he has never been both a “yes” and a “no.” HE has ALWAYS been and always will be for us a RESOUNDING “YES!”

2 CORINTHIANS 1:22-22 TPT

Now, it is God himself who has anointed us.

And he is constantly strengthening both you and us in union with Christ.

He knows we are his since he has also stamped his seal of love over our hearts and has GIVEN US the HOLY SPIRIT like an engagement ring is GIVEN to a bride—a down payment of the BLESSINGS to COME!

Jesus already paid the blessings for us to live in the Promised Land through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:20 TPT

For ALL of GOD’S PROMISES find their “YES ” of FULFILMENT in HIM. And as his “yes” and OUR “AMEN” ascend to God, we bring him glory!

G1860 PROMISES

Original: ἐπαγγελία

Transliteration: epaggelia

Phonetic: ep-ang-el-ee'-ah

Thayer Definition:

ANNOUNCEMENT

promise

the act of promising, a promise GIVEN or to be given

a promised good or blessing

Origin: from G1861

Strong's Definition: ; an announcement (for information, assent or pledge; especially a DIVINE ASSURANCE of GOOD):- message, promise.

Go and announce the good news (gospel) to others.

Announce loudly from the shofar.

Blessings upon blessings

A.W. Tozer penned the words, “God is looking for those through who He can do the impossible.

What a pity that we settle for only those things we can do ourselves.

Don't think we are limited to do only a few things.

God can do above and beyond when we trust in Him.

We have Holy Spirit inside us and it will be easy-peasy.

We are enriched in all knowledge and wisdom.

God can do the impossible.

God will do impossible things through us.

Let us become the vessel of gold instead of vessel of clay.

Replace with silver and gold.

Gold is divinity of God (new creation).

Silver is redemption (what Jesus had done in our lives).
