I WANT TO GROW UP

I AM SPIRIT

1 PETER 1:23 TPT

For through the eternal and living WORD of GOD

•  YOU have been BORN AGAIN.

•  And this “SEED” that

•  He planted WITHIN you can never be destroyed

• but will LIVE and GROW inside of YOU forever. For:

1 PETER 1:24 TPT

Human beings are frail and temporary, like grass,

and the glory of man fleeting like blossoms of the field.

The grass dries and withers and the flowers fall off,

1 PETER 1:25 TPT

but the WORD of the LORD endures forever!

And this is THE WORD that was announced to you!

1 PETER 1:22-25 MSG

Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following THE TRUTH,

•  LOVE ONE ANOTHER as if your lives depended on it.

1 PETER 1:22-25 MSG

YOUR new life is NOT LIKE your old life.

Your OLD BIRTH came from mortal sperm;

your NEW BIRTH comes from God’s living Word.

1 PETER 1:22-25 MSG

Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following THE TRUTH,

•  LOVE ONE ANOTHER as if your lives depended on it.

1 PETER 1:22-25 MSG

YOUR new life is NOT LIKE your old life.

Your OLD BIRTH came from mortal sperm;

your NEW BIRTH comes from God’s living Word.

1 PETER 1:22-25 MSG

Just think: a LIFE conceived by GOD HIMSELF!

That’s why the prophet said, The old life is a grass life,

its beauty as SHORT-LIVED as wildflowers;

•  Grass dries up, flowers wilt,

•  GOD’S WORD goes ON and ON FOREVER.

THIS is THE WORD that CONCEIVED the NEW LIFE in YOU.

If it's the WORD that conceived you -

Then it's the WORD that will cause you to GROW.

GROWING IN HOLINESS

1 PETER 2:1 TPT

So abandon every form of evil, deceit, hypocrisy, feelings of jealousy and slander.

1 PETER 2:2 TPT

In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must INTENSELY CRAVE the pure spiritual milk of GOD’S WORD.

For this “MILK ” will CAUSE you to GROW into MATURITY,

•  FULLY NOURISHED and STRONG for LIFE —

Guile is the quality of being good at deceiving people in a clever way.

•  dishonest behaviour that you use to deceive someone.

If you describe someone as guileless, you mean that they behave openly and truthfully and do not try to deceive people.

Eg. Daphne was so guileless that Claire had no option but to believe her.

This word of God shall not depart from your mouth

Guile is the quality of being good at deceiving people in a clever way.

•  dishonest behaviour that you use to deceive someone.

If you describe someone as guileless, you mean that they behave openly and truthfully and do not try to deceive people.

Eg. Daphne was so guileless that Claire had no option but to believe her.

1 PETER 2:3 TPT

especially now that you HAVE HAD a taste of the goodness of Yahweh and HAVE experienced his kindness.

1 PETER 2:1-3 MSG

So clean house!

Make a clean sweep of malice and pretense, envy and hurtful talk.

You’ve had a taste of God.

Now, like infants at the breast, drink deep of God’s pure KINDNESS.

THEN you’ll GROW UP mature and whole in God.

1 PETER 2:4-8 MSG

PRESENT YOURSELVES as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life,

in which you’ll SERVE as HOLY PRIESTS offering CHRIST-APPROVED LIVES up to God.

1 PETER 2:4-8 MSG

The Scriptures provide precedent:

Look!

I’m setting a stone in Zion, a cornerstone in the place of honor.

WHOEVER trusts in this stone as a foundation will never have cause to regret it.

1 PETER 2:4-8 MSG

To you who TRUST HIM, he’s a Stone to be proud of, but to those who refuse to trust him, The stone the workmen threw out is now the chief foundation stone.

For the untrusting it’s... a stone to trip over, a boulder blocking the way.

They trip and fall because they refuse to obey, just as predicted.

1 PETER 2:9-10 MSG

But YOU are the ONES CHOSEN by GOD,

• chosen for the HIGH CALLING of PRIESTLY WORK,

• chosen to be a HOLY PEOPLE,

•  GOD’S INSTRUMENTS to do HIS WORK

•  and SPEAK out for HIM,

• to TELL OTHERS of the night-and-day difference HE made FOR YOU —

• from NOTHING to SOMETHING,

•  from REJECTED to ACCEPTED.

1 PETER 2:11-12 MSG

Friends, this world is NOT your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it.

Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul.

1 PETER 2:11-12 MSG

Live an EXEMPLARY LIFE in your neighborhood so that YOUR ACTIONS will refute their prejudices.

THEN they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

1 PETER 2:13-17 MSG

Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens.

Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God’s emissaries for keeping order.

1 PETER 2:13-17 MSG

It is God’s will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you’re a danger to society.

Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules.

1 PETER 2:13-17 MSG

Treat everyone you meet with dignity.

Love your spiritual family.

Revere God.

Respect the government.

1 PETER 2:18-20 MSG

You who are servants, be good servants to your masters—not just to good masters, but also to bad ones.

What counts is that you put up with it for God’s sake when you’re treated badly for no good reason.

1 PETER 2:18-20 MSG

There’s no particular virtue in accepting punishment that you well deserve.

But if you’re treated badly for good behavior and continue in spite of it to be a good servant, that is what counts with God.

1 PETER 2:21-25 MSG

This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the KIND of life CHRIST lived.

He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step.

1 PETER 2:21-25 MSG

He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss.

They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back.

1 PETER 2:21-25 MSG

He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right.

He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way.

His wounds became your healing.

1 PETER 2:21-25 MSG

You were LOST SHEEP with NO IDEA

- WHO you were or WHERE you were going.

Now YOU’RE NAMED and KEPT for GOOD by the SHEPHERD of your souls.

1 PETER 3:1-2 NLT

In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands.

Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News,

•  your GODLY LIVES will speak to them WITHOUT ANY WORDS.

They will be WON OVER by OBSERVING your PURE and REVERENT lives.

1 PETER 3:3 EASY

Think about what makes you beautiful.

The way that you prepare your hair does not really make you beautiful.

Gold things or beautiful clothes do not make you beautiful.

1 PETER 3:4 EASY

Do not just think about your body, but think about what

you are really like INSIDE yourself.

Be patient and do not become angry easily.

Then you will ALWAYS continue to be BEAUTIFUL.

If you are BEAUTIFUL in your SPIRIT, God likes that very much.

1 PETER 3:4 AMP

but let it be [the inner beauty of] the HIDDEN PERSON of the HEART,

•  with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a GENTLE and PEACEFUL SPIRIT, [one that is CALM and SELF-CONTROLLED, not overanxious,

•  but SERENE and SPIRITUALLY MATURE] which is very precious in the sight of God.

The seed is the Word of God, and the ground is our HEARTS.

Our HEARTS  were created by GOD to BRING forth FRUIT

-  WHEN His WORD  is PLANTED  in THEM.

Just as a seed has to remain in the ground over time to germinate, so the WORD  of GOD  has to ABIDE in US.

PLANT THE SEED OF GOD'S WORD IN YOUR HEART

THEN the seed planted will GROW.

“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.”

– Unknown

What seeds do you want to plant?

How will today’s time and effort pay off later?

JOHN 15:5 TPT

“I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches.

As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me you are powerless.

JOHN 15:6 TPT

If a person is separated from me, he is discarded;

such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire to be burned.

JOHN 15:7-8 TPT

But if you LIVE in life-union with me and if MY WORDS live POWERFULLY WITHIN YOU—THEN you can ask whatever you desire and it will be done.

WHEN your lives bear ABUNDANT FRUIT, you demonstrate that you are MY MATURE DISCIPLES who GLORIFY my FATHER!

GROW UP

•  ADVANCE to MATURITY; -

-  DEVELOP into an ADULT:

"a young girl who grew up in Texas"

•  begin to BEHAVE or THINK sensibly:

"grow up, sister, and come into the real world"

(of something abstract) come into existence and develop:

"a school of painting grew up in Cuzco"
