HOW TO LIVE THE APHĒSIS LIFE?

Many still struggle with the consequences of sin in their lives and relationships.

Comparison is a symptom of inferiority and superiority

HOW to be FREE from this struggle?

1. RECOGNIZE that IN CHRIST we have the GRACIOUS and LOVING forgiveness of GOD.

We don't deserve it but we still get it

Christ did not deserve punishment because He did not sin

We deserve the death penalty but Jesus got it for us

We now receive the undeserved favour

2. ACKNOWLEDGE/AGREE/CONFESS to God that we have actually messed up our lives by rejecting Jesus thus failing to live according to His Instructions.

1 JOHN 1:7 TPT

But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the BLOOD of JESUS, his SON, CONTINUALLY CLEANSES us from ALL SIN.

1 JOHN 1:8 TPT

If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and

are strangers to the truth.

1 JOHN 1:9 TPT

But if we freely admit (confess) HOMOLOGEŌ  our sins when

his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time.

GOD is JUST to FORGIVE us our sins BECAUSE of CHRIST, and he will continue to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness.

PSALMS 32:1 EASY

They may have turned against God, but when God forgives them, they are happy.

WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE SO HAPPY?

PSALMS 32:2 NLT

Yes, what JOY for those whose RECORD the LORD has CLEARED of GUILT, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

PSALMS 32:2 TPT

What bliss belongs to those who have confessed their corruption to God!

For HE wipes their slates CLEAN and REMOVES HYPOCRISY from their HEARTS.

PSALMS 32:3 TPT

Before I confessed my sins, I kept it all inside; my dishonesty devastated my inner life, causing my life to be filled with frustration, irrepressible anguish, and misery.

3.  REPENT

ACTS 3:19 KJV

REPENT ye therefore, and be CONVERTED, that your SINS may be BLOTTED OUT,

when the TIMES of REFRESHING shall COME from the PRESENCE of the LORD;

WHAT IS REPENTANCE in the NEW COVENANT?

G3341 repentance

Original: μετάνοια

Transliteration: METANOIA

Phonetic: met-an'-oy-ah

Thayer Definition:

a CHANGE of MIND, as it appears to one who repents, of a purpose he has formed or of something he has done

Strong's Definition: From G3340; compunction (for guilt, including reformation); by implication reversal (of [another's] decision):- repentance.

Conscience has a knowledge of right and wrong

G3340 repent

Original: μετανοέω

Transliteration: METANOEŌ

Phonetic: met-an-o-eh'-o

Thayer Definition:

- to change one's mind, i.e. to repent

- to CHANGE ONE'S MIND for BETTER, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

Strong's Definition: From G3326 and G3539; to THINK DIFFERENTLY  or afterwards, that is, RECONSIDER  (morally to feel compunction): - repent.

Etymologically speaking, μετανοέω is a compound of νοέω [noeō], which means “to understand, to ponder, to think about,” and μετα [meta], which means “with”: μετανοέω means “to UNDERSTAND WITH, to USE the MIND with.”

When we repent, we are using our MIND to REALIZE that we have done wrong, to hate/regret our sin, and to CHANGE our MIND for the BETTER.

The Greek word μετα-νοέω METANOEŌ is a lot like our English word CON-SCIENCE : both terms imply “with knowledge.”

CONSCIENCE -

a person's moral sense of right and wrong, viewed as acting as

a guide to one's behaviour.

"he had a guilty conscience about his desires"

synonyms: sense of right and wrong, sense of right, moral sense, still small voice, inner voice, voice within, morals, standards, values, principles, ethics, creed, beliefs, compunction, scruples, qualms

REPENT - RENEW/RENOVATE our MINDS and CHANGE THE WAY we THINK which allow us to LIVE ACCORDING to GOD’S WILL.

WHAT BRINGS REPENTANCE ?

Jesus died for me. We don't deserve it.God is so good, He did not count my sin against me. He took my punishment on my behalf when i don't deserve it. This is the goodness of God. My sin is so big, i did not receive the punishment, because Jesus took the punishment on my behalf.

ROMANS 2:4 NKJV

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance,

and longsuffering, not knowing that the GOODNESS of GOD leads you to repentance?

WHAT IS THE RESULT OF REPENTANCE?

ACTS 3:19 NKJV

Repent therefore and be CONVERTED, that your sins may be blotted out, so that TIMES of REFRESHING may COME from the PRESENCE of the LORD,

G1994 converted

Original: ἐπιστρέφω

Transliteration: EPISTREPHŌ

Phonetic: ep-ee-stref'-o

Thayer Definition:

to turn to

to the worship of the true God

to cause to return, to bring back

to the love and obedience of God

to love wisdom and righteousness

to turn one's self about, turn back

to return, turn back, come back

Strong's Definition: From G1909 and G4762; to REVERT:- come (go) again, convert, (re-) turn (about, again).

The word forgiveness (aphesis) means LOOSING SOMEONE FROM WHAT BINDS him.

It stems from a verb meaning to SEND AWAY.

FORGIVENESS grants FREEDOM to those who are in BONDAGE.

ACTS 2:38 AMP

And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the FORGIVENESS of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

HEBREWS 9:22 AMP

In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].

A good behavior can only come about from a good nature

God has lifted the sentence of condemnation upon Christians for their sins through the death of Christ on their behalf and no longer counts them as guilty.

Forgiveness is necessary both because God is just and because all humans are guilty with sin.

When we UNDERSTAND this, we RECEIVE RELEASE (APHĒSIS ) from the captivating power of sin in our lives.

FORGIVEN AND FREE

ROMANS 6:22 TPT

But now, as God’s loving servants, you live in JOYOUS FREEDOM from the power of sin.

So consider the BENEFITS you now ENJOY—you are brought deeper into the experience of true holiness that ends with eternal life!

ROMANS 6:23 NLT

For the wages of sin is death, but the FREE GIFT of GOD

is ETERNAL LIFE through CHRIST JESUS our Lord.
