Session 02: Foundation 02 - LIVING THE LIFE THAT COMES FROM CHRIST

ROMANS 8:1 AMP

THEREFORE there is NOW NO CONDEMNATION [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are IN Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].


ROMANS 8:1 CEV

If you belong to Christ Jesus, you won't be punished.


The old undeleted files in our head will cause us to have condemnation


Lets enter the lift and go up to the floor we want to.


Believe and receive His word and act upon it.


First thing there is no more fear of punishment.


There is vertical relationship.

Horizontal relationship with men.


A radar inside us know that we know what is right and wrong.


Getting a clear understanding of new creation in the spirit man


Whoever born of God will not continuously habitually sin. It is not longer in our nature.

Living under grace gives us the power to overcome sin


God does not condemn us, the new nature is in us and it gives us the power to stop sin


Our previous life is still parallel


ROMANS 8:2 AMP

For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our NEW BEING] has set you FREE from the LAW of SIN and of DEATH.


We will under the power of not able to stop sining if we follow this power of law.


Prison of Law of sin and death.


We are all in prison

If you have experienced some big mistakes in your life, you will understand more.


The spirit is higher than the physical realm.

The nature of sin


In the prison of law. The power of sin and death


Everyone born is a prisoner of law of sin and death, that is why Jesus needs to come and set us free


We don’t clean the dirty blood that comes out.


Holy Spirit will give us life.


ROMANS 8:2 CEV

The HOLY SPIRIT will GIVE you LIFE that COMES FROM CHRIST JESUS and will set you FREE from sin and death.


ROMANS 7:7 MSG


But I can hear you say, “If the law code was as bad as all that, it’s no better than sin itself.”

That’s certainly not true.

The law code had a perfectly legitimate function.


Without its clear guidelines for right and wrong, moral behavior would be mostly guesswork.

Apart from the succinct, surgical command, “You shall not covet,” I could have dressed covetousness up to look like a virtue and ruined my life with it.


ROMANS 7:8-12 MSG

Don’t you remember how it was?

I do, perfectly well.

The law code started out as an excellent piece of work.


What happened, though, was that sin found a way to pervert the command into a temptation, making a piece of “forbidden fruit” out of it.

The law code, instead of being used to guide me, was used to seduce me.


The law is perfect but men was not. Men sin. How could sinful men follow the perfect law? It is not possible of God


If we follow the law it will end up as temptation


ROMANS 7:8-12 MSG


Without all the paraphernalia of the law code, sin looked pretty dull and lifeless, and I went along without paying much attention to it.

But once sin got its hands on the law code and decked itself out in all that finery, I was fooled, and fell for it.


The very command that was supposed to guide me into life was cleverly used to trip me up, throwing me headlong.

So sin was plenty alive, and I was stone dead.

But the law code itself is God’s good and common sense, each command sane and holy counsel.


ROMANS 7:13 MSG

I can already hear your next question: “Does that mean I can’t even trust what is good [that is, the law]?

Is good just as dangerous as evil?”

No again!


Sin simply did what sin is so famous for doing: using the good as a cover to tempt me to do what would finally destroy me.

By hiding within God’s good commandment, sin did far more mischief than it could ever have accomplished on its own.


ROMANS 7:14-16 MSG

I can anticipate the response that is coming: “I know that all God’s commands are spiritual, but I’m not.


Isn’t this also your experience?”

Yes.

I’m full of myself—after all, I’ve spent a long time in sin’s prison.


Sometimes we are comfortable in our sin’s prison


We need heart transplant.


That is the heart of God. He make us new inside.


The new heart can pump differently


ROMANS 7:14-16 MSG

What I don’t understand about myself is that I decide one way, but then I act another, doing things I absolutely despise.

So if I can’t be trusted to figure out what is best for myself and then do it, it becomes obvious that God’s command is necessary.


The mind in the old mind of right and wrong will end up say no


ROMANS 7:21-23 MSG

It happens so regularly that it’s predictable.

The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up.

I truly delight in God’s commands, but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight.

Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge.


ROMANS 7:24-25 MSG

I’ve tried everything and nothing helps.

I’m at the end of my rope.

Is there no one who can do anything for me?

Isn’t that the real question?


The answer, thank God, is that Jesus Christ can and does.

He acted to set things right in this life of contradictions where I want to serve God with all my heart and mind, but am pulled by the influence of sin to do something totally different.


God make us different. Accept who we are. Each one has certain wonderful strength


It is not more about you or me.

On the cross He settled the question about you and me.


Jesus acted to set things right for us


God accept us as we are in Christ.

There is no more fear


ROMANS 8:1-2 MSG

With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud.


A NEW POWER IS IN OPERATION.


The SPIRIT of LIFE in CHRIST, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, FREEING you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.


The new power is in operation

New life in Christ came from heaven


The power within us is also power.


ROMANS 6:1-3 MSG

So what do we do?

Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving?

I should hope not! (CERTAINLY NOT)


If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there?


Or didn’t you realize we packed up and left there for good?


That is what happened in BAPTISM.


When we went UNDER the water, we LEFT the OLD country of SIN BEHIND;

When we CAME UP OUT OF the water, we ENTERED into the NEW COUNTRY of GRACE —a NEW LIFE in a NEW LAND!


A state of complete rest and enjoyment

Blessings where we don’t drive for it

We just need to know who we are in Christ.


God gives freely and wants His children to enjoy their lives


The satanic nature tried to be good

Jesus said we are raised


That’s what baptism into the LIFE of Jesus means.

When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus.


Each of us is RAISED into a LIGHT-FILLED world by our Father so that we can see where we’re going in our NEW GRACE-SOVEREIGN COUNTRY.


Access everything that comes from God

We did not earn it. It is by faith


ROMANS 6:6-11 MSG

Could it be any clearer?

Our OLD WAY of LIFE was NAILED to the CROSS with CHRIST,

a decisive end to that SIN-MISERABLE LIFE—no longer at sin’s every beck and call!


What we believe is this:

If we get included in CHRIST’S SIN-CONQUERING DEATH, we also get included in HIS LIFE-SAVING RESURRECTION.


ROMANS 6:6-11 MSG

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives.

Don’t give it the time of day.

We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end.

Never again will death have the last word.


Sin speaks of dead language


ROMANS 6:6-11 MSG

When JESUS died, he took sin down with him, but ALIVE he brings GOD down TO US.


From now on, think of it this way:

SIN speaks a DEAD LANGUAGE that means NOTHING to you;


GOD speaks your MOTHER TONGUE , and you hang on EVERY WORD.

You are DEAD to SIN and ALIVE to GOD.

That’s what JESUS DID.


ROMANS 6:12-14 MSG

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives.

Don’t give it the time of day.

Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life.


Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—

into GOD’S WAY of DOING THINGS.

Sin can’t tell you how to live.


You have been raised from the dead


Throw yourself whole heartedly to His way.


Don’t have to be ashamed if you did not go to the best school.


After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer.

YOU’RE LIVING in the FREEDOM of GOD.


For sin will no longer be a master over you, since you are not under Law [as slaves], but under [unmerited] GRACE [as recipients of GOD’S FAVOR and MERCY].


ROMANS 6:14 AMP


ROMANS 6:15-18 MSG


So, since we’re out from under the old tyranny, does that mean we can live any old way we want?


Since we’re free in the freedom of God, can we do anything that comes to mind?

Hardly.

You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom.


ROMANS 6:15-18 MSG


Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it’s your last free act.

But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits.

All your lives you’ve let sin tell you what to do.


ROMANS 6:15-18 MSG

But thank God you’ve started LISTENING to a NEW MASTER,

one whose commands SET you FREE to LIVE OPENLY in HIS FREEDOM!


In Christ is different from the world.

Without Christ people can lose all and cannot recover


In Christ Jesus we are kept safe.

In Christ we will never hurt ourselves


We will feel safe in Him


We are safe in Him. In the word of God He will never fail you.


Swing high. Enjoy Christ.

His favour, mercy, surround us like a shield.


We will always be in His loving arm.
