[Sermon Note]  THE 15TH HEBREW ALPHABET ”SAMECH" -REVEALED IN PSALMS 119

Pastor Stephanie

Protection and support. Samech is a symbol of that

Samach begins the last group of SEVEN letters.

SAMECH means to "UPHOLD, REST, SUPPORT, lean upon, refresh

The pictogram, or symbol, behind the shape of the letter SAMECH, is a CIRCLE, indicating to SURROUND, to PROTECT.

The Hebrew word SAVAV (SAMECH BET BET) means to surround or to ENCIRCLE.

The letter SAMECH is a symbol of support and protection.

This is inferred by its all-encompassing shape, and asserted by its meaning: ‘support’.

Meaning:

1. Support

2. Medicine

In this article:-

Yaakov had been terribly ill for weeks.

He finally decided to ask R. Mordechai of Neshchiz for advice.

“Rebbe,” he sobbed, “please help me.

I am extremely sick.

I have gone to every doctor in town, but none of them has a cure for me.”

“It seems that you haven’t gone to the right doctor,” replied R. Mordechai.

“Go immediately to Anipoli and talk to the specialist there.

Then you will be cured.”

Yaakov thanked the Rebbe for his advice, hired a wagon, and set out for Anipoli.

When he arrived there, he rushed over to the first person he saw and asked, “Please, tell me where the great specialist lives.

I am very ill and must see him right away.”

The person was puzzled.

“You came to Anipoli for a specialist?!

This is such a small village, we don’t even have a doctor here.”

“You must be mistaken,” Yaakov insisted.

“R. Mordechai of Neshchiz explicitly told me to go to Anipoli and see the specialist here.

You must tell me—where does he live?”

“But there is no doctor here,” the man repeated.

Yaakov went to everyone in town, asking each the same question:

“Where is the specialist?

I must see the specialist right away.”

And everyone gave him the same answer:

“There is no specialist in Anipoli.

There is not even a doctor.”

Disappointed and frustrated, Yaakov returned to R. Mordechai of Neshchiz.

“Rebbe,” he said, “I don’t understand.

You sent me to Anipoli, but the people told me that not only is there no specialist there, there is not even a doctor.”

“Hmm.

They don’t even have a doctor?” questioned the Rebbe.

“So did you ask the people what they do when someone is sick?”

“I did,” Yaakov replied. “They told me that when someone is sick, they pray to G‑d and rely on Him to cure them.”

“Now do you understand?”

R. Mordechai explained.

“The people in Anipoli go to the greatest specialist in the world.

They pray to G‑d.

He is the one Who cures us all.”

JESUS is our protector, IN HIM we are secure.

The perimeter of Samekh denotes the (God)Creator and its interior denotes God’s creation, who God constantly supports and upholds and protects.

indicates the general providence of the Creator, surrounding and sustaining all of existence, even as we perceive ourselves as separate.

The greatest specialist is Jesus!

We are still stuck in the natural realm

The new spirit man has new avenue. Take a different direction now. He is the One who support us even in this physical world. We trust and rely upon JesusThe new born spirit man no longer need to rely on worldly medicine.

It is a world of completely dark to the new believers.

Jesus is telling us we can now trust Him, rely on Him and He is our Healer.

The carnal mind is enemy with God

Listen and meditate on God’s Word. The Word supposed to be a lamp upon our feet.

Spiritual realm

Trust Him for our health, for our healing

This becomes a path to us.

Samech (also spelled Samekh) is the fifteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet

Its circular form is symbolic of the ENDLESS CYCLE of LIFE.

SAMECH • 60 • A circle, It means • To surround • To protect • To sustain • To uphold • To strengthen

A PROTECTIVE SHIELD

If we have the support but we don’t trust the support, then nothing happen.

God is our support.

Samekh means "to trust," "depend upon," and "support."

It symbolizes Divine Support and Protection and is associated with the process of Memory.

This important letter of the Aleph-Bet also depicts Abundance and Completeness.

He is the One who uploads us, no longer afraid of not enough supplies.

The perimeter of Samekh denotes the (God)Creator and its interior denotes God’s creation, who God constantly supports and upholds and protects.

indicates the general providence of the Creator, surrounding and sustaining all of existence, even as we perceive ourselves as separate.

The whole universe is held up by Christ.

The Samekh is the container of all forms.

Samekh teaches us circular thinking.

It tells us to think for the good of the whole, not just one’s self

(an ability which comes from the Neshama soul), and to be inclusive of everything and everyone.

It is the principle that the wisdom is not contained in just one vessel, in just one person, but is distributed in all beings.

God is not a One-Man on the island.

God is the God of abundance! More than we can contain.

The problem is our lack of understanding for this spiritual realm.

The mind always limit us and separate ourselves.

Design

The design of the samech is a closed circle.

A circle represents infinity, because it has no beginning or end.

The circular aspect of the samech represents support, like the rings that encircle and hold together all.

When you pick up someone who has fallen, you support and encircle him or her.

Support, surround, protects. How we apply this into our life

With the wedding ring we are saying in effect, “This ring has no beginning or end, no highs or lows.

The characteristic of encircling is constant.

So, too, will my commitment to you be constant, encompassing your whole being, regardless of the highs and lows of the relationship.”

We find the same concept regarding the Jewish people who were married to G‑d at Mount Sinai.

The Talmud states that the Giving of the Torah at Sinai “was the betrothal ceremony” when G‑d gave us the ring, our wedding band.

At that time we committed ourselves to follow G‑d’s laws, “and G‑d then obligated Himself to provide the Jewish people with sustenance and livelihood.”

He never fails and never went back on His word

Everything in the bible has significance meaning

Gematria

The numerical value of the samech, the fifteenth letter of the alef-beis, is SIXTY.

In the Priestly Blessing recited every morning there are fifteen words and sixty letters.

When the kohen blesses the people, he must put his two hands together.

According to the Mishnah there are thirty bones in each hand, sixty when the hands are joined.

What is unique about the Priestly Blessing?

The results of such blessings are swift and without interruption, similar to the strength of a current of mighty water that no dam can stop.

The Priestly Blessings embody the concept of the samech: infinite light and power.

The concept of infinite light and power!

He is our Protector. He is the One who surrounds us

He is surrounding us, protecting us.

When we have this revelation, we have less fear in our lives

Less fear of lack

60 mighty men surrounding Solomon

60 mighty men surrounding Solomon

Look!

It is the king’s marriage carriage— the love seat surrounded by sixty champions, the mightiest of Israel’s host, are like pillars of protection. breath of life; and man became a living soul.

SONG OF SONGS 3:7 TPT

PSALM 119:113 KJV

SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

The word surround starts with Samech and bet (dwelling)

Today is not only 60 men surrounding us. We are protected by angels, by Holy Spirit !

The servants saw the armies coming to attack, Elisha saw the angels coming

Elisha has spirit eyes and he saw the spirit realm

The servants saw the natural realm.

See the army of angels go before us

Spiritually where are we standing

We can see in the spirit

I see God as my Doctor.

I can take the next step to walk

This is the surrounding power of the letter Samech

PSALM 119:113 KJV

SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

H5588

Original: סעף

Transliteration: sê‛êph

Phonetic: say-afe'

BDB Definition:

ambivalent, divided, half-hearted

Strong's Definition: From H5586; divided (in mind), that is, (concretely) a skeptic:- thought.

We see samech in vain thoughts.

Something that is divided

Samech is complete

Hebrew letter can be good words, but also can be not so positive words.

Samech is complete circle

PSALM 119:114 NKJV

You are my HIDING PLACE and my SHIELD; I hope in Your word.

The hiding place and shield is the letter Samech inside

We are hiding in Him

We hope in His Word

How do we live in that protection?

By hiding in Him

UPHOLD me according to Your word, that I may live;

And do not let me be ashamed of my HOPE.

In our thinking, if we half half, we come out from the circle of protection

When we come out of it, we get shot here and there.

We stay within the word of God, the revelation, we completely trust Him and we stay there, than the protection is manifested.

We are then in the safe place

We depend on Him

Depend on Him means we no longer sees ourselves as everything depends on us

We are then not depending on Him

When we depend on Him, the burden is on Him

No fear in giving

No fear in obeying God

That is true experience on trusting Him to protect us

PSALM 119:115-116 NKJV

Depart from me, you evildoers, For I will keep the commandments of my God!

Looking to God to protect us, to surround us.

Learning His Word that I may live

PSALM 119:117 NKJV

HOLD ME UP, and I shall be safe, And I shall observe Your statutes continually.

Anything we go to that person in life..NO. God is the One who holds us up. His Word hold us up.

YHVH, the Almighty God is the One who holds us up

Not men.

Doing part comes from understanding who He is to us.

PSALM 119:118-120 NKJV

You reject all those who stray from Your statutes,

For their deceit is falsehood.

You put away all the wicked of the earth like dross; Therefore I love Your testimonies.

My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments.

The literal meaning of Samek  סמך   is  ‘to rely or trust on,’ to ‘support or lay hands on,’.

Samek  ס  is used only once in the Pentateuch (the first 5 books of Moses).

Deuteronomy 34:9 NIV

Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had LAID his HANDS on him.

So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses.

Our response is to trust God in our support

He is the One supporting us

Our main support is Jesus

Moses is supporting Joshua as a man of God

In this verse it is translated as ‘laying on of hands’.

Though laying on of hands is an act of consecration or setting apart, the Hebrew meaning is that of ‘support’.

Samek supports and lifts into higher dimensions and realms of engagement.

When we lay hands, there is impartation

Impartation of going into higher realm of revelation and understanding. Of spiritual understanding and revelation

The word Samek  סמך  has a numerical value of 120.

Another Hebrew word with the same numerical value is OMED עומד, which means ‘to stand’.

EXODUS 3:5 NIV

“Do not come any closer,” God said.

“Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

This is significant, because what Moses was doing wasn’t just the act of standing but supporting where he was standing.

Moses was taking up a position coming into agreement with what Yahweh was going to say and reveal to him.

Standing - supporting where he was standing

Coming into agreement what Yahweh was to say

Be ready to hear what God wants to say

Draw wisdom from God

Yahweh is going to say something to you through His Word

Stand in His Word

Stand in the position that we are His children

New kingdom realm

SAMEK stirs our faith to align with the revelations of YHVH.

It positions and supports us to support the revelations revealed.

As a supporter, it continues to lift us into deeper revelations of Yahweh.

Samek is the letter that dwells in the secret realms.

The Hebrew words ‘Sodi’ = mysterious or ‘Sod’ = secret start with ס.

DEUTERONOMY 29:29 NIV

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

JEREMIAH 33:3 NIV

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Samek is a transporter.

As a dweller of the secret realms of YHVH, it positions the sons for divine revelation.

Because from this position it aligns our eyes to see The Word… a manifestation of the Letters…. culminated in the Son of God.

That’s why AYIN ע   appears after ס .

Samek positions us into the eyes of revelation, lifts us up into realms to see and engage the next.

The letter has a semicircular construction and hence introduces the word ‘SEDER’ which means circle within a circle.

Think of Ezekiel’s wheels within wheels – Samek creates an atmosphere that carries us into the mysteries and secrets of the Throne room of God.

There’s a wonderful partnership between SAMEK and AYIN that positions us for incredible innovations in the Throne Room.

As the secrets and mysteries are meant for the sons of God, then this Hebrew word carries great significance.

The Hebrew word for SURROUND is סבב (sabab) and also means to encompass.

Notice the spelling with a double BEYT.

means temple, that is you ב.

The first appearance of this word is in:

GENESIS 2:11 KJV

The name of the first is Pison: that is it which ENCOMPASSES the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

sâbab - סבב

- the double ב   is inside and outside.

As above, so below.

That ס positions us into the riches, the gold, the gemstones and treasures laid up in the kingdom revealed to us.

Inside there is gold, jem stone, laid up in the kingdom

The river of life surrounded

It positions us among the fiery stones to engage the altars of revelation.

Any altar requires sacrifice.

As Jesus is our ultimate sacrifice, it paved how through grace we may bring a sacrifice of commitment, pursuit, dedication, hunger, finances, idols, time…..

surrounds us with our inheritance, ready to be engaged and released ס.

There is no limitation in ס  as it creates capacity (SEAH סאה   means a unit of capacity (like litres or kg)).

The Miracle of Samekh

The letter Nun, which immediately precedes the letter Samekh in the alphabet, suggests someone who is "bent," or someone who humbles himself in brokenness and submission to the LORD God.

Putting these two letters together, we have the Hebrew word NES, miracle.

PSALM 145:14 NKJV

A person of faith is a walking miracle!

The LORD gives support to the fallen and broken ones who put their trust in Him.

The LORD UPHOLDS all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down.

When we walk into Samech, we see God of the millions. He is our Father

He takes care of us.

You are walking in faith. Faith is believing what God says.

PHILIPPIANS 1:6 AMP

I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].

He will always uphold us, even when we fails or fall.
