Session 03: Foundation 02 - Thinking From The Hidden Man Of The Heart

Pastor Stephanie

WHAT IS ENTRANCE TICKET INTO GOD'S GARDEN OF EDEN (LIFE OF PLEASURE AND NOT PRESSURE)?

There is an inner struggle inside. Spirit soul and body

There is an un-renewed mind

self effort to please God

ROMANS 8:1 NLT

So now there is NO condemnation for those who BELONG to CHRIST JESUS.

When you first realised whatever you have done wrong in the past, God does not condemn you.

It is not about what we do or not done. It is about what He has done on the cross.

He was condemned so we don’t need to be condemned.

ROMANS 8:2 NLT

And because you BELONG to HIM, the POWER of the LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT HAS FREED you from the POWER of sin that leads to death.

It is God’s power that set us free from condemnation

ROMANS 8:3 NLT

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful NATURE.

So God did what the law could not do.

He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have.

And IN THAT BODY GOD DECLARED an END to SIN’S CONTROL over us by GIVING his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

Jesus is the only One who did not have sinful nature. He was not born from Adam. He was conceived from the Holy Spirit.

ROMANS 8:4 NLT

He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful NATURE but instead follow the SPIRIT.

COLOSSIANAS 3:9-11 MSG

Don’t lie to one another.

You’re done with that old life.

It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire.

Now you’re dressed in a NEW WARDROBE.

Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it.

All the old fashions are now obsolete. Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious

and irreligious, insider and outsider, uncivilized and uncouth, slave and free, mean nothing.

From now on everyone is DEFINED BY CHRIST, everyone is INCLUDED IN CHRIST.

You have a new nature and you are unable to lie anymore. You are free.

The old Adam died. We cannot have 2 nature

We are defined by Christ.

Who define us?

Christ.

New Outfit

ISAIAH 61:10 MSG

I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul!

HE DRESSED me up in a SUIT of SALVATION, he OUTFITTED me in a ROBE of RIGHTEOUSNESS,

In order to live in another realm we need to wear another wardrobe

Knowing we are made right not because we are good.

Don’t put law on ourselves trying to overcome ourselves

A believer can be controlled by a sinful nature

A thought life

ROMANS 8:5 NLT

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature THINK about sinful things,

but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit THINK about things that please the Spirit.

THINKING FROM YOUR NEW NATURE IN CHRIST

or

THINKING FROM THE HIDDEN MAN OF THE HEART

PROVERBS 23:7 AMP

For as he THINKS in his HEART, so is he [in behavior—one who manipulates].

He says to you, “Eat and drink,” Yet his heart is not with you [but it is begrudging the cost].

What you are going to think will affect your life and peace.

Peace comes from holy spirit

ROMANS 8:6 NLT

So letting your SINFUL NATURE CONTROL your MIND leads to death.

But letting the SPIRIT CONTROL your MIND leads to LIFE and PEACE.

ROMANS 8:6 TPT

For the MIND-SET of the flesh is death, but the MIND-SET controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.

Life is not in the mind

Life is in the heart. That is where the life slows.

The devil can control thoughts

ROMANS 8:7 TPT

In fact, the MIND-SET FOCUSED on the FLESH fights God’s plan and refuses to submit to HIS DIRECTION, because it cannot!

ROMANS 8:7 NLT

For the SINFUL NATURE is always hostile to God.

It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.

ROMANS 8:8 TPT

For no matter how hard they try, God finds no pleasure with those who are controlled by the flesh.

ROMANS 8:8 NLT

That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

We depend on Him. He leads us in life and peace.

What seems to be harmless is actually enemy with God

We are led by Christ. Enjoy Jesus. He gives us life and peace.

God wants us to depend on Him! He said He wants to take care of us.

We can sleep like a baby.

The baby is in cradle and in the care of the parents.

The old nature is about trying

We need to know who we are letting go to.

We let go to Jesus

He wants and has the power and ability to take care of us.

ROMANS 8:9 TPT

But when the SPIRIT of CHRIST EMPOWERS your LIFE, you are not dominated

by the flesh but by the Spirit.

And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him.

ROMANS 8:9 NLT

But YOU ARE NOT controlled by your sinful nature.

You are controlled by the SPIRIT if you have the Spirit of God living in you.

(And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

GALATIANS 5:16 TPT

As you YIELD FREELY and FULLY to the DYNAMIC LIFE and POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT,

you will abandon the cravings of your self-life.

For your self-life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder HIM from living free within you!

Who is Jesus? Is His power stronger than the devil?

We need to know who He is and who we are in Him

It is not fighting the old nature.

GALATIANS 5:17 TPT

And the HOLY SPIRIT’S INTENSE CRAVINGS HINDER your old self-life from dominating you!

So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self-life of the flesh and the NEW CREATION LIFE of the SPIRIT.

GALATIANS 5:18 TPT

But when you are brought into the FULL FREEDOM of the SPIRIT of GRACE,

you will no longer be living under the domination of the law,

but SOARING ABOVE IT!

GALATIANS 5:19-21 TPT

The cravings of the self-life are obvious:

Sexual immorality, lustful THOUGHTS, pornography, chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior.

Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things will not inherit the kingdom realm of God!

GALATIANS 5:22-23 TPT

But the FRUIT PRODUCED by the HOLY SPIRIT within you is DIVINE LOVE in all its varied expressions:

joy that overflows,

peace that subdues,

patience that endures,

kindness in action,

a life full of virtue,

faith that prevails,

gentleness of heart,

and strength of spirit.

Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.

Never set the law above these qualities

They are limitless

Fruits come through watering

The seeds have to grow first

The moment you try you give strength to the sin.

PHILIPPIANS 4:8 TPT

So keep your THOUGHTS CONTINUALLY FIXED on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind.

And FASTEN your THOUGHTS on every GLORIOUS WORK of GOD, PRAISING HIM always.

Why are we not speaking freely?

ROMANS 10:16 TPT

But not everyone welcomes the good news, as Isaiah said: Lord, is there anyone who HEARS and BELIEVES our message?

What you hear is what you will think

ROMANS 10:17 NLT

So faith comes from HEARING , that is, HEARING the GOOD NEWS ABOUT CHRIST.

ROMANS 10:17 TPT

FAITH, then, is birthed in a HEART that responds to GOD’S anointed UTTERANCE of the ANOINTED ONE.

He has all authority and this is the good news! He is the righteousness of God in Christ

Your situation can turn around.

Not we can turn it around but Jesus can turn it around.

What you need to hear? The anointed Word.

Believe God and respond.

1 SAMUEL 17:3-4 NLT

So the Philistines and Israelites faced each other on opposite hills, with the valley between them.

Then Goliath, a Philistine champion from Gath, came out of the Philistine ranks to face the forces of Israel.

He was over nine feet tall!

They heard him and they were terrified

Faith comes from hearing

Fear also come from hearing

1 SAMUEL 17:5-7 NLT

He wore a bronze helmet, and his bronze coat of mail weighed 125 pounds.

He also wore bronze leg armor, and he carried a bronze javelin on his shoulder.

The shaft of his spear was as heavy and thick as a weaver’s beam, tipped with an iron spearhead that weighed 15 pounds.

His armor bearer walked ahead of him carrying a shield.

1 SAMUEL 17:8-9 NLT

Goliath stood and shouted a taunt across to the Israelites.

“Why are you all coming out to fight?” he called.

“I am the Philistine champion, but you are only the servants of Saul.

Choose one man to come down here and fight me!

If he kills me, then we will be your slaves.

But if I kill him, you will be our slaves!

1 SAMUEL 17:10 NLT

I defy the armies of Israel today!

Send me a man who will fight me!”

1 SAMUEL 17:11 NLT

When Saul and the Israelites HEARD this, they were TERRIFIED and DEEPLY SHAKEN.

Before they could fight they were weakened

1 SAMUEL 17:12-13 NLT

Now David was the son of a man named Jesse, an Ephrathite from Bethlehem in the land of Judah. Jesse was an old man at that time, and he had eight sons.

Jesse’s three oldest sons—Eliab, Abinadab, and Shimea—had already joined Saul’s army to fight the Philistines.

1 SAMUEL 17:14-15 NLT

David was the youngest son.

David’s three oldest brothers stayed with Saul’s army, but David went back and forth so he could help his FATHER with the SHEEP in Bethlehem.

1 SAMUEL 17:16 NLT

For FORTY DAYS, EVERY MORNING and EVENING, the Philistine champion strutted in front of the Israelite army.

1 SAMUEL 17:17-18 NLT

One day Jesse said to David, “Take this basket of roasted grain and these ten loaves of bread, and carry them quickly to your brothers.

And give these ten cuts of cheese to their captain.

See how your brothers are getting along, and bring back a report on how they are doing.”

1 SAMUEL 17:19-20 NLT

David’s brothers were with Saul and the Israelite army at the valley of Elah, fighting against the Philistines.

So David left the sheep with another shepherd and set out early the next morning with the gifts, as Jesse had directed him.

He arrived at the camp just as the Israelite army was leaving for the battlefield with shouts and battle cries.

1 SAMUEL 17:21-23 NLT

Soon the Israelite and Philistine forces stood facing each other, army against army.

David left his things with the keeper of supplies and hurried out to the ranks to greet his brothers.

As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, came out from the Philistine ranks.

Then David heard him shout his usual taunt to the army of Israel.

For 40 days morning and night listen to the wrong voice. Fear and trembling

What they hear go inside their head

We are all warriors. So powerful in Christ

1 SAMUEL 17:26 NLT

David asked the soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel?

Who is this PAGAN Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the ARMIES of the LIVING GOD?”

1 SAMUEL 17:32-33 NLT

“Don’t worry about this Philistine,” David told Saul.

“I’ll go fight him!”

“Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win!

You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.”

King Saul was seeing based on things on 5 senses in the natural

1 SAMUEL 17:34-36 NLT

But David persisted.

“I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth.

If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death.

I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this PAGAN Philistine, too, for he has DEFIED the armies of the LIVING GOD!

They have forgotten they have a great and living God

1 SAMUEL 17:37-39 NLT

THE LORD who RESCUED ME from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!”

Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said.

“And may the Lord be with you!”

Then Saul gave David his own armor—a bronze helmet and a coat of mail. David put it on, strapped the sword over it, and took a step or two to see what it was like, for he had never worn such things before.

“I can’t go in these,” he protested to Saul.

“I’m not used to them.”

So David took them off again.

He knows who is behind him.

You just need to wear the robe of righteousness

1 SAMUEL 17:40 NLT

He picked up FIVE smooth stones from a stream and put them into his shepherd’s bag.

Then, armed ONLY with his SHEPHERD’S STAFF and SLING, he started across the valley to fight the Philistine.

1 SAMUEL 17:44-45 NLT

“Come over here, and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and wild animals!” Goliath yelled.

David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you IN THE NAME of the LORD of HEAVEN’S ARMIES —the GOD of the ARMIES of ISRAEL, whom you have defied.

1 SAMUEL 17:46-47 NLT

TODAY the LORD will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head.

And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel!

And EVERYONE ASSEMBLED HERE will know that THE LORD rescues HIS PEOPLE, but not with sword and spear.

This is the Lord’s battle, and he will GIVE you to us!”

It is not how great i am. It is my God. My God!

1 SAMUEL 17:48-49 NLT

As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead.

The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground.

1 SAMUEL 17:50-51 NLT

So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword.

Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath.

David used it to kill him and cut off his head.

When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they turned and ran.

We have a spiritual sword. We don’t need the natural one.

The word of God. The word of grace and how powerful our God is.

Whatever you hear is whatever your mindset will be.

Hear the authentic Word of God

Have your thoughts fixed on God’s Word

ISAIAH 26:3 NLT

YOU will KEEP in PERFECT PEACE all who trust in you,

all whose THOUGHTS are FIXED on YOU!

Whatever we hear will either bring faith or fear

Faith and understanding come by listening and listening. First hearing the outer ear and second level of hearing is spiritual ear.

ROMANS 8:6 TPT

For the MIND-SET of the flesh is death, but the MIND-SET controlled by the SPIRIT finds LIFE and PEACE.

Our God is powerful and merciful!

In Christ, keep listening to Him.

Hearing God’s Word

Thinking from the old sinful nature

You feel intimidated

The devil reduce you to nothing

Thinking from the hidden man of the heart

It is not time to overcome the flesh.

It is filling yourself with the spirit

Your thoughts will be set by the holy spirit.

Seat belt of Christ. Very safe

Listen and let your mindset change according to what God says.
