MATTHEW 26:14-15 TPT
One of the twelve apostles, Judas the locksmith, went to the leading priests and said, “How much are you willing to pay me to betray Jesus into your hands?”
They agreed to pay him THIRTY SILVER COINS.
MATTHEW 27:1-2 TPT
Before dawn that morning, all the chief priests and religious leaders resolved to take action against Jesus and decided that he should be executed.
So they bound him with chains and led him away to Pilate, the Roman governor.
MATTHEW 27:3-4 TPT
Now, when Judas, the betrayer, saw that Jesus had been sentenced to death, remorse filled his heart.
He returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and religious leaders, saying, “I have sinned because I have betrayed an innocent man.”
They replied, “Why are you bothering us?
That’s your problem.”
MATTHEW 27:5-6 TPT
Then Judas flung the silver coins inside the temple and went out and hanged himself.
The chief priests, picking up the pieces of silver, said, “We can’t keep this, for it’s unlawful to put blood money into the temple treasury.”
MATTHEW 27:7-8 TPT
So after some deliberation, they decided to purchase the potter’s field of clay, to use as a cemetery for burying strangers.
That’s why that land has been called “The Field of Blood.”
MATTHEW 27:9-10 TPT
This fulfilled the prophecy of Zechariah:
They took the thirty pieces of silver, the PRICE at which HE WAS VALUED by the people of Israel, the price of a precious man,
And with the silver they bought the potter’s field, as the Lord directed.
EXODUS 21:32 AMP
If the ox gores a male or a female servant, the owner shall give to the servant’s master THIRTY shekels of silver [the PURCHASE PRICE for a SLAVE], and the ox shall be stoned.
30 shekels of silver is what we will pay for a slave
Slave trade has been abolished
Amazing grace is a song written by a slave trader who got saved
ZECHARIAH 11:12-13 MSG
Then I addressed them: “Pay me what you think I’m WORTH.”
They paid me an INSULTING sum, counting out THIRTY SILVER COINS.
God told me, “Throw it in the poor box.”
This stingy wage was all they thought of me and my work!
So I took the thirty silver coins and threw them into the poor box in God’s Temple.
A slave has no rights. Is a nobody. Is like a possession.
God’s Word is spirit and life.
God’s Word brings blessings.
The prophet Zechariah asked the Israelites to pay him for the work he had done working among them, that’s what they gave him.
It was meant to be an insult; they didn’t value his prophecy.
Jehovah told Zechariah to throw this SLAVE’S WAGE into the treasury (back in their faces).
So when Matthew says 30 pieces of silver and has Judas throw it back into the treasury, it’s an allusion to this story in Zechariah in which unfaithful Jews UNDERVALUED a prophet of the Lord with an insulting amount of money - WHAT A SLAVE IS WORTH.
Matthew is saying the priests were willing to pay ALMOST NOTHING for JESUS.
They were angry at Jesus for the scene he’d made at the temple overturning the moneylenders’ tables and railing against the corrupt priests profiting off the sacrifices people brought to the Jerusalem to make to God out of devotion and duty.
Thirty pieces of silver to the priests, to Matthew, to Zechariah, then, was the PRICE of CONTEMPT.
CONTEMPT - the feeling that a person or a thing is WORTHLESS or beneath consideration.
They saw Jesus as worthless.
We were worthless and of no use to Him. But for us to become worthy, communion is not checking if we are worthy. We will never be worthy if not what Jesus did.
Everything on the cross was a divine exchange for us.
ROMANS 5:8 MSG
But God put his LOVE on the line for us by offering his SON in sacrificial death while WE WERE of NO USE WHATEVER to HIM.
God put His love on you when you are of no value.
God paid for something that is of no value. Which is you and me.
No one in this world, logically will pay for something of no value.
God is willing to pay a price for you and me.
We were not just saved by grace.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:20 NKJV
For you were BOUGHT at a PRICE; therefore glorify God in your BODY and in your SPIRIT, which are God’s.
Why people today don’t value themselves? Is because they don’t realise Jesus paid for them.

How much did God pay for us?
We are God’s expensive purchase
1 CORINTHIANS 6:20 TPT
You were GOD'S EXPENSIVE PURCHASE, PAID FOR with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!
1 CORINTHIANS 6:16-20 MSG
There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.”
Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.”
Every time we sin or do something, God does not condemn us. But our hearts condemn us.
Loneliness comes from sex outside marriage. Sex is created by God for within marriage.
All the sin we commit through our bodies is because of the lack of knowledge of who we are in Christ.
We are so precious. Don’t let anyone under value us.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:16-20 MSG
There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others.
In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for “becoming one” with another.
Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit?
Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what GOD PAID SUCH a HIGH PRICE FOR ?
The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you.
God owns the whole works.
So let people see God in and through your body.
ISAIAH 43:1-4 MSG
But now, God’s Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: “Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve CALLED your NAME.
You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
Real freedom is to know your worth and your glory through God
God calls each one by name
Name is an identity
Is Christ who said I can do all things through Christ.
Everything is in Christ
ISAIAH 43:1-4 MSG
When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I PAID a HUGE PRICE for YOU:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.
God don’t need us to prove our value. He already value us at the cross.
LUKE 15:8 TPT
Jesus gave them another parable: “There once was a woman who had ten
VALUABLE SILVER COINS.
[each one equal to a day’s wages]
G1406
Original: δραχμή
Transliteration: DRACHME
Phonetic: drakh-may'
Thayer Definition:
a drachma, a Greek silver coin about the same weight as a Roman denarius
Silver means redemption
When she lost one of them, she swept her entire house, diligently searching every corner of her house for THAT ONE LOST COIN.
LUKE 15:9 TPT
When she finally found it, she gathered all her friends and neighbors for a celebration, telling them, ‘Come and celebrate with me!
I had lost my PRECIOUS SILVER COIN, but now I’ve found it.’
LUKE 15:10 TPT
That’s the way God responds every time one lost sinner repents and turns to him.
He says to all his angels, ‘Let’s have a joyous celebration, for that one who was lost I have found!’ ”
MATTHEW 10:29-31 TPT
You can buy two sparrows for only a copper coin, yet not even one sparrow falls from its nest without the knowledge of your Father.
Aren’t you WORTH MUCH MORE to GOD THAN MANY SPARROWS ?
So don’t worry.
For your Father cares deeply about even the smallest detail of your life.
Sparrows were a very cheap article sold in the market as food for the poor.
They were sold by the pair or in fives.
The market price was two sparrows for an assarion.

MATTHEW 10:29-31 MSG
“What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right?
And God cares what happens to it even more than you do.
He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head!
So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.
MATTHEW 10:31 AMP
So do not fear; you are MORE VALUABLE than many sparrows.
If the Lord cares for the sparrow, he certainly cares for you — and me.
JESUS was PRICED as a SLAVE.
His death is the VALUE of the death of a slave.
So that you and me have become PRICELESS -
so PRECIOUS that its VALUE cannot be determined.
"priceless works of art".
God owns everything. Heaven on earth. There is so much that God sees in you. You are not for sales.
Jesus was priced at the price of a slave, so that we will be priced like diamond.
God come and find me not to beat me up. But to show me His glory.
Live your life valuable and we can see others as valuable too.
There are so many wonderful things when you know you are so valuable to Him.
Live free from abuse by devil. He will trade the whole world for you.
