THE DOORPOST COVENANT -I JUST WANT THE KING! - [Sermon Note]

Pastor Deborah

Dalet is the fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet

Numerical value: 4

Sound: "D"

Meaning:

1. Poor

2. Door

3. Lift up

God's Word has divine energy and power.

Daletדלת is the word for door, gate and indicates resistance and the state of selflessness and humility needed to pass through it.

It indicates how to pass through the gates to know one’s own mystery of being and return to the power of the Aleph – the One source of all creation and being.

To pass through the door, we need selflessness and humility.

As human being, we were all poor in the spirit.

We were all made from dust.

The Dalet is in the shape of a bent over man, signifying the humility and receptiveness.

It represents the self-nullification, or nullification of the ego, necessary to realize ones inherent connection to the Creator.

Also, it is the structure, form and the diligence required to receive.

When one is proud, there are just like the satan thinking that they are like God.

We need to know our place.

Without God, we have no power at all.

We were nothing but God made us something.

Dalet is also DALדל , the poor man, who receives from benevolence of the Creator, represented by Gimel.

It is the realization that as humans, we having nothing of our own, but are entirely dependent on the creator and that every breath and movement is given to us from Him.

Jesus, Holy Spirit and God giving to the poor man.

The Dalet represents structure.

Its form of a horizontal and vertical line represents a grid, giving structure to the form.

It is shaped like a stair-step, the structure and overcoming of resistance needed to study.

When Dalet is in someone’s name it indicates strong will, diligence, perseverance, patience, ability to concentrate, organization, planning, building.

It shows us the structure and stability required to receive.

Strong will - Submit to God's will

There is a story in the Midrash of a King who entered a land together with various ministers, pageantry, and servants.

Many observers were taken aback by the dazzling presence of the ministers and soldiers.

However one smart person in the audience said, “I JUST WANT THE KING.”

Most eyes were not focused on the King who enters the land.

In this world, we should not be distracted or dazzled by any side attractions of honor or reward even of a spiritual nature.

Our only intention should be “I JUST WANT THE KING.”

We are not motivated to serve the Lord because of rewards.

It is a most exhilarating feeling to walk through this world and see all it has to offer yet to know in one’s heart that one is in G‑d’s world.

Permeated with such feeling, one displays contempt for any side distraction, and the Torah, which is G‑d’s instruction manual, is one’s guide.

In regard to an arrogant person G-d says: "I and he cannot dwell together."

The door to G-d's house allows for the humble of spirit to enter.

The door itself, the dalet, is the property of humility and lowliness, as explained above.

Those who are humble can enter the door.

The dalet is also the initial letter of the word dirah, "dwelling place," as in the phrase "[G-d's] dwelling place below."

Thus the full meaning of the dalet is the door through which the humble ENTER into the realization of G-D'S DWELLING PLACE.

The letter Dalet is the path or the gate - to Aleph, Bet and Gimel.

Dalet is a door that needs to be opened – the door between higher and lower levels.

The Israelites were ENTERING a NEW REALM and eventually

a NEW LAND; with

a NEW IDENTITY

as the people CHOSEN by the LORD when they accepted the COVENANT at Sinai.

A people set apart – Holy, to the Lord.

The blood was not on the threshold, so they did not tread on it, it was on 3 sides and looked like a door.

When we think we are right, we actually don't realise the righteousness of Jesus.

We are always right in our own eyes but it is not the perfect righteousness before God's eyes.

Another approach to the form or design of the dalet is that the dalet represents a DOORPOST and a LINTEL.

The vertical line is the doorpost; the horizontal line is the lintel.

DEUTERONOMY 6:1-2 NKJV

“Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded to teach you,

that you may OBSERVE them in the land which you are crossing over to POSSESS,

that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be PROLONGED.

Our new spirit man wants to obey God, wants to please Him.

God gave us a new heart that is poured with the love of God.

We obey Him because we love Him.

Our spirit wants to be in His presence.

DEUTERONOMY 6:3 NKJV

THEREFORE HEAR, O Israel, and be careful to OBSERVE it, that it may be WELL with you, and that you may MULTIPLY greatly as the Lord God of your fathers has PROMISED you—

‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’

DEUTERONOMY 6:4-5 NKJV

“HEAR, O Israel:

The LORD OUR GOD, the LORD is ONE!

You shall LOVE the LORD YOUR GOD with ALL your HEART, with ALL your SOUL, and with ALL your STRENGTH.

The Law itself reveals God's heart.

DEUTERONOMY 6:6 NKJV

“And these WORDS which I command you today shall be in your HEART.

DEUTERONOMY 6:7-8 CEB

Recite them to your children.

TALK about them when you are sitting around your house and when you are out and about, when you are lying down and when you are getting up.

Tie them on your hand as a sign.

They should be on your forehead as a symbol.

DEUTERONOMY 6:9 NLT

WRITE THEM on the DOORPOSTS of your HOUSE and on your GATES.

H4201 doorpost

Original: מזזה מזוּזה

Transliteration: MEZÛZÂH mezûzâh

Phonetic: mez-oo-zaw'

Strong's Definition: From the same as H2123; a door post (as prominent):- (door, side) post.

Mezuzah: (Hebrew: מזוזה, sometimes spelled mezuzah, lit. “doorpost”):

A small parchment scroll upon which the Hebrew words of the Shema are handwritten by a scribe.

Mezuzah scrolls are rolled up and affixed to the DOORPOSTS of Jewish homes, designating the home as Jewish and reminding those who live there of their CONNECTION to G‑D and their HERITAGE.'

The doorposts to our heart as Christian.

What is to be inscribed?

Divine instruction is very clear: “The words that I shall tell you this day”:

that you shall love your God,

believe ONLY in HIM,

keep His commandments,

and pass all of this on to your children.

A mezuzah serves two functions: Every time you enter or leave,

the mezuzah REMINDS you that YOU HAVE a COVENANT with GOD;

second,

the mezuzah serves as a symbol to everyone else that THIS PARTICULAR DWELLING is constituted as a JEWISH HOUSEHOLD,

OPERATING by a SPECIAL set of rules, rituals, and beliefs.

We are free to choose, free from love of money, free from fear of men.

We don't have to be bound by satan, religion, fear, lack, our old selves.

DEUTERONOMY 6:10-12 EASY

The Lord your God will SOON BRING YOU into a land that has large, beautiful cities that you did not build.

That is the land that HE PROMISED to GIVE to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

It has houses that are FULL of GOOD THINGS that you did not put into them.

We don't work with worries, with fear of lack.

DEUTERONOMY 6:10-12 EASY

There are WELLS of water that you did not dig.

There are FIELDS with grapes and olive trees that you did not plant.

You will be ABLE to EAT as much as you want.

But be careful that you do not forget the Lord.

He rescued you from Egypt, where you were slaves.

If you listen obediently to the Voice of God, your God, and heartily obey all his commandments that I command you today, God, your God, will place you on high, high above all the nations of the world.

ALL THESE BLESSINGS will come down on you and spread out BEYOND you because you have responded to the Voice of God, your God:

DEUTERONOMY 28:1-6 MSG

God’s blessing inside the city, God’s blessing in the country; God’s blessing on your children, the crops of your land, the young of your livestock, the calves of your herds, the lambs of your flocks.

God’s blessing on your basket and bread bowl;

God’s blessing in your coming in,

God’s blessing in your going out.

Physical blessings doesn't indicate if a person is blessed.

DEUTERONOMY 28:7-9 MSG

God will defeat your enemies who attack you.

They’ll come at you on one road and run away on seven roads.

God will ORDER a BLESSING on your barns and workplaces;

He'll bless you in the land that God, your God, is giving you.

God will form you as a people HOLY to HIM, just as he promised you, if you keep the commandments of God, your God, and live the way he has shown you.

DEUTERONOMY 28:11-14 MSG

God will LAVISH you with GOOD THINGS:

children from your womb, offspring from your animals,

and crops from your land,

the land that God promised your ancestors that he would give you.

God will throw OPEN the DOORS of his sky vaults and POUR rain on your land on schedule and BLESS the work you take in hand.

You will lend to many nations but you yourself won’t have to take out a loan.

DEUTERONOMY 28:11-14 MSG

God will make you the head, not the tail;

you’ll always be the top dog, never the underdog,

as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today.

Don’t swerve an inch to the right or left from the words that I command you today by going off following and worshiping other gods.

HEBREWS 10:11-12 NKJV

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

HEBREWS 10:13-14 NKJV

from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.

For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

HEBREWS 10:15-16 NKJV

But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the COVENANT that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord:

I will put MY laws INTO their HEARTS, and in their MINDS I will write them,”

REVELATIONS 3:14-15 NKJV

“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness,

the Beginning of the creation of God:

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot.

I could wish you were cold or hot.

REVELATIONS 3:16-17 NKJV

So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—

REVELATIONS 3:18-19 NKJV

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.

Therefore be zealous and repent.

REVELATIONS 3:20 NKJV

Behold, I stand at the DOOR and knock.

If anyone HEARS My voice and OPENS the DOOR,

I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

What is the connection between the DOOR and the POOR MAN?

Customarily, a poor man must knock on doors.

2 CORINTHIANS 8:9 NKJV

For you know the GRACE of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, that though HE was RICH,

yet for YOUR sakes HE BECAME POOR, that YOU THROUGH HIS POVERTY might become RICH.

IS JESUS STILL KNOCKING ON SOME DOORS IN YOUR HEART?

WILL YOU LET THE DOORPOSTS OF YOUR HEART BE FILLED WITH HIS COVENANT WORD

AND LIVE IN THE NEW COVENANT OF FULLNESS OF LIFE IN CHRIST

SERVING THE KING OF KINGS!
