Pastor Deborah
JOHN 14:26 AMP
But THE HELPER (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things.
And He will HELP you REMEMBER (REMIND YOU) everything that I have told you.
Jesus came. He is the Word
When someone is agitated, it is because they are physically and mentally tired
The more weaknesses we have, the more we can see how the Holy Spirit can help us
JOHN 16:7 AMP
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, THE HELPER (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; -
but if I go, I will send Him (THE HOLY SPIRIT) to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
Holy Spirit cannot come to us if Jesus did not go away
JOHN 16:8 AMP
And HE, WHEN HE COMES, will convict the world about [the guilt of] sin [and the need for a Savior], and about righteousness, and about judgment:
JOHN 16:9-10 AMP
about sin [and the true nature of it], because they do not believe in Me [and My message]; about righteousness [personal integrity and godly character],
because I am going to My Father and you will no longer see Me;
JOHN 16:11 AMP
about judgment [the certainty of it], because the ruler of this world (Satan) has been judged and condemned.
At the cross when Jesus took our sins, He stripped the devil of the authority to put sickness on His children.
The devil was judged and condemned
Jesus destroy the serpent. The devil is a liar.
Take the authority
JOHN 16:12 EASY
I have many more things to tell you.
But you are not strong enough to know them now.
JOHN 16:13 AMP
But WHEN HE, the SPIRIT of TRUTH, comes, -
HE will GUIDE YOU into ALL the truth [full and complete truth].
For He will not speak on His own initiative, but HE will SPEAK whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], -
and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].
You don't know the way, that is why you need a guide
ROMANS 5:1 EASY
So we see that GOD has ACCEPTED US as right because we BELIEVE in HIM.
As a result, we are friends with God, because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us.
ROMANS 5:2 EASY
Also, because we trust Jesus Christ, he has caused us to know that God is very kind.
That makes us strong in our lives here.
We also are sure that we will live with God in heaven.
So we are very happy.
ROMANS 5:3 EASY
We are happy even when we have troubles and pain.
That is because we know that those troubles help us to become patient and strong.
ROMANS 5:4 EASY
And when we remain strong, we show that we trust God.
When we trust God like that, it causes us to hope for God's help.
ROMANS 5:5 EASY
And when we hope like that, it will not disappoint us.
That is because we know that God loves us very much.
God has given his HOLY SPIRIT to be with us.
The HOLY SPIRIT causes us to know God's love very well.
Your heart has a lot of God's love. Have an understanding of how much does God loves us. Will He allows harm or bad things to happen to you? That can only be revealed to us by Holy Spirit
ROMANS 5:5 NKJV
Now hope does not disappoint, because the LOVE of GOD has been POURED OUT in our HEARTS by the HOLY SPIRIT who was GIVEN to us.
The HOLY SPIRIT had been POURED OUT, and the outpouring had brought the first Christians an OVERWHELMING AWARENESS of THE LOVE of GOD.
They were embraced with love
God loved them!
This revelation CHANGED their whole lives.
It was no longer merely a statement of fact.
It wasn’t just something Jesus told them.
The revelation of God’s love was so real to them that it removed guilt, freed them from fear, and overcame their sin.
It warmed their hearts to accept one another—even the Gentiles, whom they had were never considered worthy of God’s attention.
ACTS OF APOSTLES 11:15-16 NLT
“As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning.
Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said,
‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
God did not hold back anything from you
ACTS OF APOSTLES 11:17-18 NLT
And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?”
When the others heard this, they stopped objecting and began praising God.
They said, “We can see that God has also given the Gentiles the privilege of repenting of their sins and receiving eternal life.”
So great was the love they experienced that their love for each other was turned into action as they prayed together and cared for the poor among them.
ACTS OF APOSTLES 2:44-45 NLT
And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.
They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.
ACTS OF APOSTLES 2:46-47 NLT
They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people.
And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
They met everyday
This love of God, poured out by the Holy Spirit,
is the foundation of the entire gospel message.
It is the very reason for the church’s existence, the key to all theological questions, and the answer to every crisis that has visited individuals and nations.
This love is unmerited, an affection from the Father
that persists, despite our sin and rebellion.
ROMANS 5:8 NLT
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
The book of Acts is a constant testimony to the fact that when the Spirit reveals God’s love, all of life takes on a new perspective.
Our past sins are fully covered and forgiven.
Our future is secured.
God is not limited by our limitation
And we are given the courage to work through the cares and concerns
of the present.
Because we have experienced overflowing, divine love,
we are filled with an “unutterable and exalted joy” that suffuses
every aspect of our lives.
1 PETER 1:8 TPT
You love him passionately although you have not seen him, but through believing in him you are saturated with an ecstatic joy, indescribably sublime and immersed in glory.
A Life of Surrender.
As they experienced indwelling Spirit, the disciples were compelled to surrender their lives to Jesus and to the mission of his church.
Surrender cannot be commanded
It is through Holy Spirit, His love on you
Their interior lives were CHANGED to the point that they DECIDED to “live no longer for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised”.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:15 NLT
He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves.
Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
It was not enough simply to take up a different,
more idealistic, lifestyle.
The Holy Spirit had so invaded them that—weak and sinful though they were—they wanted to set themselves apart for the Lord, offering themselves as a “living sacrifice” to him.
ROMANS 12:1 NLT
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you.
Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable.
This is truly the way to worship him.
St. Paul explained this surrender to Jesus by making
a proclamation that can still touch our hearts today:
GALATIANS 2:20 NLT
My old self has been crucified with Christ.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God,
WHO LOVED ME and gave himself for me.
For Paul, and all the early Christians, the Holy Spirit, who overwhelmed them, also convinced them to yield each day to Jesus.
The Spirit had revealed Jesus to them, not only as someone who loved them deeply but also as the Lord of all creation, worthy of their obedience, love, and devotion.
Describing this process of obedience, Paul wrote:
PHILIPPIANS 3:7-8 NKJV
But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord,
FOR WHOM I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
PHILIPPIANS 3:8 NLT
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
FOR HIS SAKE I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ
PHILIPPIANS 3:9 NKJV
and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Paul, Peter, and all the disciples sought to open every aspect of their lives to the Holy Spirit and ALLOW the LOVE they HAD RECEIVED in their HEARTS to renew their minds, their desires, their decisions, and their relationships.
They learned to “take every thought captive to obey Christ”
2 CORINTHIANS 10:4-5 NLT
We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God.
We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
They allowed themselves to be “transformed by the renewal
of [their] minds".
ROMANS 12:2 NLT
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
ROMANS 8:26 TPT
And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness.
For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for.
But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to
super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
ROMANS 8:27 TPT
God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings,
yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit,
because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us,
his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.
ROMANS 8:28 EASY
We know that GOD WORKS to HELP those people who love him.
He uses everything that happens to them to bring something good.
He does this FOR those people that HE has CHOSEN to SERVE HIM.
MATTHEW 19:27-29 TPT
Then Peter blurted out, “Here we are.
We’ve given up everything to follow you.
What reward will there be for us?”
Jesus responded, “Listen to the truth: In the age of the restoration of all things,
when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will have twelve thrones of your own, and you will govern the twelve tribes of Israel.
For anyone who has left behind their home and property, leaving family—brothers or sisters, mothers or fathers, or children—FOR MY SAKE, they will be repaid a hundred times over and will inherit eternal life.
When God call someone, there will be something to leave behind
There is something to leave behind
The people who are called in the 5-fold ministry will leave something behind, but for His sake, they will be rewards 100 times more
The phrase, "God first, family second, then ministry" nor
anything that suggest this -
is NOT in the Bible.
This phrase is coined by men and interpreted by men based on their failures in their own personal lives.
Their failure in their family life has got nothing to do with their serving the Lord.
ROMANS 8:14 TPT
"The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit."
We are to live our lives LED by the HOLY SPIRIT not by our human impulses (the flesh).
JESUS came to SAVE YOU from SIN, FEAR, GUILT and SHAME and from yourself.
HOLY SPIRIT came to HELP YOU LIVE out GOD'S PURPOSE FOR YOU on this earth.
Serving the Lord, can you differentiate the time?
Our whole life belongs to Him
Words alone don't mean anything. God sees at our hearts. He knows if we mean it or not mean it
Realised that we need Him.
