UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF JEHOVAH SHAMMAH

UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF JEHOVAH SHAMMAH יהוהשמה and how that affects us as sons and daughters of JEHOVAH SHAMMAH יהוה שמה in CHRIST.

Preached by Pastor Stephanie

Sermon Deck:

We are eternal being and we want to learn wisdom that will last forever

JEHOVAH SHAMMAH appeared only once

EZEKIEL 48:35 NLT

“The distance around the entire city will be 6 miles.

And from that day the name of the city will be ‘The Lord Is There.’

Jehovah Shammah is the name of a city

Jehovah Shammah means “THE LORD IS THERE”

When Ezekiel received this vision from God, the Jews had been in captivity in Babylon for twenty-five years (Ezekiel 40:1).

Jerusalem and the temple were in ruins.

But God had promised that His people would be restored and that the city and the temple would be rebuilt (Jeremiah 25:11, 13; Daniel 9:20-27).

In the closing chapters of Ezekiel, the prophet describes what God told him in vision about this coming restoration of the land, the city, and the temple.

It included detailed plans and measurements for the restored city.

The final words of Ezekiel’s book are these:

“And the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE [Jehovah Shammah]” (Ezekiel 48:35).

That name, JEHOVAH SHAMMAH, would have special meaning for the Jewish exiles.

They felt forsaken in Babylon and cut off from God.

But in this GLORIOUS CITY of PROMISE—THE LORD IS THERE!

When they were in exile, they

EZEKIEL 48:1-2 NLT

“Here is the list of the tribes of Israel and the territory each is to receive.

The territory of Dan is in the extreme NORTH.

Its boundary line follows the Hethlon road to Lebo-hamath and then runs on to Hazar-enan on the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north.

Dan’s territory extends all the way across the land of Israel from east to west.

EZEKIEL 48:3-4 NLT

“Asher’s territory lies SOUTH of Dan’s and also extends from east to west.

EZEKIEL 48:3-4 NLT

Naphtali’s land lies south of Asher’s, also extending from east to west.

Then comes Manasseh south of Naphtali, and its territory also extends from east to west.

EZEKIEL 48:5-7 NLT

South of Manasseh is Ephraim, and then Reuben,

and then Judah, all of whose boundaries extend from east to west.

EZEKIEL 48:8-9 NLT

“South of Judah is the land set aside for a special purpose.

It will be 8-1/3 miles wide and will extend as far east and west as the tribal territories, with the TEMPLE at the CENTER.

“The area set aside for the Lord’s Temple will be 8-1/3 miles long and

6-2/3 miles wide.

The temple they worship God will always be in the centre

EZEKIEL 48:10-11 NLT

For the priests there will be a strip of land measuring 8-1/3 miles long by 3-1/3 miles wide, with the Lord’s Temple at the center.

This area is set aside for the ordained priests, the descendants of Zadok who served me faithfully and did not go astray with the people of Israel and the rest of the Levites.

EZEKIEL 48:15 NLT

“An additional strip of land 8-1/3 miles long by 1-2/3 miles wide, south of the sacred Temple area, will be allotted for public use—homes, pasturelands, and common lands, with a city at the center.

EZEKIEL 48:16-17 NLT

The city will measure 1-1/2 miles on each side— NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, and WEST.

Open lands will surround the city for 150 yards in EVERY DIRECTION.

EZEKIEL 48:18-19 NLT

Outside the city there will be a farming area that stretches 3-1/3 miles to the east and 3-1/3 miles to the west along the border of the sacred area. This farmland will produce food for the people working in the city.

Those who come from the various tribes to work in the city may farm it.

EZEKIEL 48:20-21 NLT

This entire area—including the sacred lands and the city—is a square that measures

8-1/3 miles on each side.

“The areas that remain, to the east and to the west of the sacred lands and the city,

will belong to the prince.

Each of these areas will be 8-1/3 miles wide, extending in opposite directions to the eastern and western borders of Israel, with the sacred lands and the sanctuary of the Temple in the center.

EZEKIEL 48:22-23 NLT

So the prince’s land will include everything between the territories allotted to Judah and Benjamin, except for the areas set aside for the sacred lands and the city.

“These are the territories allotted to the rest of the tribes.

Benjamin’s territory lies just south of the prince’s lands, and it extends across the entire land of Israel from east to west.

EZEKIEL 48:24-25 NLT

South of Benjamin’s territory lies that of Simeon, also extending across the land from east to west.

Next is the territory of Issachar with the same eastern and western boundaries.

EZEKIEL 48:26-27 NLT

“Then comes the territory of Zebulun, which also extends across the land from east to west.

The territory of Gad is just south of Zebulun with the same borders to the east and west.

EZEKIEL 48:28-29 NLT

The southern border of Gad runs from Tamar to the waters of Meribah at Kadesh and then follows the Brook of Egypt to the Mediterranean.

“These are the allotments that will be set aside for each tribe’s exclusive possession.

I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!

EZEKIEL 48:30-31 NLT

“These will be the exits to the city: On the north wall, which is 1-1/2 miles long, there will be three GATES, each one NAMED after a tribe of Israel.

The first will be named for Reuben, the second for Judah, and the third for Levi.

EZEKIEL 48:32-33 NLT

On the east wall, also 1-1/2 miles long, the gates will be named for Joseph, Benjamin, and Dan.

The south wall, also 1-1/2 miles long, will have gates named for Simeon, Issachar, and Zebulun.

EZEKIEL 48:34-35 NLT

And on the west wall, also 1-1/2 miles long, the gates will be named for Gad, Asher, and Naphtali.

“The distance around the entire city will be 6 miles.

And from that day the name of the city will be

‘THE LORD Is THERE.’

Eternal things are more valuable than what it is of this world. Door or the opening

to split open, reason out, calculate, reckon, estimate

to calculate Pro 23:7

Strong's Definition: to split or open, that is, to act as gate keeper (see H7778); to estimate:- think.

The word Gate is to think, the thought.

PROVERBS 23:7 TPT

For as he THINKS within himself, so is he.

He will grudgingly say, “Go ahead and eat all you want,” but in his heart he resents the fact that he has to pay for your meal.

The main thing this wisdom is not just the action that people do, but what the person is thinking. what we are thinking become that person.

His mind is not revealed.

How powerful is this mind!

The gate. the opening to all allocation.

It is the mind

The entrance to our allotment is through the name of the 12 tribes. God don't simply give names without meaning.

Our position as sonship. Sonship is a position. It is by relationship, by blood. A legal right to inheritance in Christ. When we have the revelation of sonship, we celebrate!

Spirit soul and body, the blockage is the mind

Revelation and always understand God is always in the adding. He wants to add into our lives and keep on increasing in our lives

You don't see add, you don't see multiply (in your giving)

Jehovah has added and He is adding! See God continually adding and not minusing

Choose one direction, and not go left and right.

1. Reuben = "behold a son", see ye a son

2. Judah = "praised", celebrated

3. Levi = "joined to", attached

4. Joseph = "Jehovah has added", let him add (or adding)

5. Benjamin = "son of the right hand", to choose the right, go to the right, use the right hand, be right handed

6. Dan = "a judge", to rule

7. Simeon or Shimeon = "heard", hearing, to hear, listen to, obey hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, attentively, call (gather) together, carefully, certainly, consent, consider, be content, declare, diligently, discern

How do we enter? When we know Romans 5:17

Through the gift of righteousness we will rule and reign in life!

One who has the ability to rule, you are not afraid and you reign in life

Hear what God is saying.

8. Issachar = "there is recompense", he will bring a reward, payment of contract; concretely salary, fare, maintenance; compensation, benefit:- hire, price, reward [-ed], wages, worth.

When we come to Him, believe that He exist and that He is rewarder!

Faith! Believe He is a rewarder. if we don't see God is big, we will see money is very big.

9. Zebulun = "exalted", honor, to inclose, that is, to reside:- dwell with.

10. Gad = "troop", to attack:- invade, overcome. to crowd; also to gash (as if by pressing into):- assemble (selves by troops), gather (selves together, self in troops), cut selves.

God dwells in us and we exalt Him. Those who are humble, in due time He will exalt us.

God will honor us when we honor Him. God honor and use us as a blessing to someone. The servant of God. God will honor us back, His Word said so.

11. Asher = "happy", to go forward, be honest, prosper: bless, to go straight, walk, go on, advance, make progress

fight of faith

overcomer

If you believe in God you will rest. Faith = Rest

Rest also come from Faith

There is no happiness if you are not progressing.

Empowerment of God fulfilling the destiny in your life!

While he was Abram, he did not have power to fulfil his destiny. This is not change of destiny. When he became Abraham, he was empowered

Gimel is giver.

Have this part inside us always want to go forward

12. Naphtali = "wrestling", to twine or twist,

(Isaiah 40:1 - wait - to bind together (perhaps by twisting), that is, collect; (figuratively) to expect:-gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon).

We wait upon the Lord like an eagle

They that wait upon the Lord shall rise up with wings like the eagle.

You keep on meditating day and night as if you are wrestling.

No one can take the land of Israel away from them

All eyes will see the eternal Ruler

GENESIS 32:24-26 NLT

This left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and WRESTLED with him until the dawn began to break.

When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket.

Then the man said, “Let me go, for the dawn is breaking!”

But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

Why are we learning God's name? So that He can bless us.

GENESIS 32:27-28 NLT

“What is your name?” the man asked. He replied, “Jacob.”

“Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him.

“From now on you will be called ISRAEL, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.”

"Israel = God prevails ישראל ,

he will rule as God"

GENESIS 32:29-30 NLT

“Please tell me your name,” Jacob said. “Why do you want to know my name?” the man replied.

Then he blessed Jacob there.

Jacob named the place Peniel (which means “face of God”), for he said,

“I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been spared.”

REVELATION 21:3 NLT

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people.

GOD HIMSELF will be with them.

He is there in that situation that look so impossible. He is there to protect and to heal and to protect. He said He will never leave us.

HEBREWS 13:5 TPT

Don’t be obsessed with money but live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence.

For hasn’t he promised you, “I will NEVER leave you, NEVER!

And I will not loosen my grip on your life!”

MATTHEW 28:19-20 TPT

Now WHEREVER you GO, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

And TEACH them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you.

And NEVER FORGET that I AM WITH YOU every day, even to the completion of this age.”

Choose to be identified with Jesus Christ

They are choosing Philippians 3:10

Not to remain in blessing stage, but to go out and be a blessing, to love and to bless

Lamed. Teach others.
