Pastor Deborah
GENESIS 41:39-40 NKJV
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as DISCERNING and WISE as you.
You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”
When God came the kingdom to King Solomon, he asked for discernment, hearing heart and wisdom.
Discernment - able to distinguish between what is right and wrong not according to our own understanding but according to God's perspective.
These are qualities or characteristics (Eg: long suffering, patience etc.) who belongs to the Lord to be promoted in our lives.
GENESIS 41:41-43 NKJV
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!”
So he set him over all the land of Egypt.
God's hand promoted Joseph.
A position where we rule over kingdoms and people.
One day, when Jesus comes, we will rule over people.
GENESIS 40:14-15 NKJV
But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.
For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; and also I have done nothing here that they should put me into the dungeon.”
GENESIS 40:22-23 NKJV
But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.
Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.
And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”
But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.
There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife.
How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
God is opening doors for His children.
GENESIS 39:10-12 NKJV
So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.
But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.”
But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.
GENESIS 39:13-14 NKJV
And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us.
He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.
GENESIS 39:15-16 NKJV
And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.”
So she kept his garment with her until his master came home.
GENESIS 39:17-18 NKJV
Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, “The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me;
so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.”
GENESIS 39:19-20 NKJV
So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did to me after this manner,” that his anger was aroused.
Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the PRISON, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was THERE in the PRISON.
He has to get rid of bitterness and anger towards people who have hurt us.
God said "Vengeance is mine."
Integrity and shalom means wholeness, completeness.
GENESIS 37:2-3 NKJV
This is the history of Jacob.
Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers.
And the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age.
Also he made him a tunic of many colors.
GENESIS 37:4-5 NKJV
But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they HATED him and could not speak peaceably to him.
Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they HATED him EVEN MORE.
Our lives as Children of God is not to please others.
Our part is to maintain the new nature, the love, the integrity inside our hearts.
GENESIS 37:19-20 NKJV
Then they said to one another, "Look, this dreamer is coming! Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’
We shall see what will become of his dreams!"
The enemy now in Christ is not flesh and blood but the Devil.
GENESIS 37:27-28 NKJV
Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand
be upon him, for he is our brother and our flesh.” And his brothers listened.
Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and SOLD HIM to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver.
And they took Joseph to Egypt.
Joseph was sold as a slave.
No freedom, no rights and become their possession.
GENESIS 50:15-18 NKJV
When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps Joseph will HATE us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him.”
So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”’
Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.”
On the cross, He was stripped naked for us.
Humiliation is upon Him.
Now, in exchange, we can be exalted.
The price (blood of Jesus) He paid is not cheap for us to become sons and daughters of God.
GENESIS 50:19-21 NKJV
Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for AM I in the PLACE of GOD?
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to SAVE MANY PEOPLE ALIVE.
Joseph was conscious of God.
We are to be conscious of God; to walk with Him.
When we walk with Him, we become conscious of Him.
There is a God who is fair and just and will do the necessary.
GENESIS 50:19-21 NKJV
Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will PROVIDE for YOU and your little ones.”
And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
kindly…: Heb. to their HEARTS
Not only Joseph was forgiving, but he was generous.
Joseph manifested the nature of God.
PSALM 75:6 KJV
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

Aware that He is the one who gives promotion and He is the one who put down one and set up another.
God will work in our lives for us.
He is for us and not against us.
God will promote us at the right timing while He build our character.
If we walk in integrity, honouring God, He will vindicate us.
God will bring out the truth at the end.
Our heart forgives and we let God handle.
PSALM 75:6-7 EASY
Who has the power to judge people? Nobody from the east, or from the west, or from the desert can be judge.
God is the one who judges people.
He decides who to bring down and who to lift up.
Open doors can be in terms of career, or ministries etc.
1 CORINTHIANS 16:8-9 NKJV
But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are
many adversaries.
1 CORINTHIANS 16:9 TPT
There’s an amazing door of opportunity standing wide open for me to minister here, even though there are many who oppose and stand against me.
2 CORINTHIANS 2:12 TPT
When I arrived at Troas, bringing the wonderful news of Christ, the Lord opened a great door of opportunity to minister there.
2 CORINTHIANS 2:12 EASY
I went to Troas city to tell people the good news about Christ.
When I arrived there, I discovered that the Lord had already prepared people to listen.
REVELATIONS 3:7-8 MSG
Write this to Philadelphia, to the Angel of the church. The Holy, the True—David’s key in his hand, opening doors no one can lock, locking doors no one can open—speaks:
“I see what you’ve done.
Now see what I’ve done.
I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut.
You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word.
You didn’t deny me when times were rough.
When He opens door, no one can shut it.
