Pastor Stephanie
Ruach (pronounced roo-akh) is the Hebrew word for SPIRIT, BREATH, or WIND.
When spoken, the word engages one’s breath and lungs.
Why do we want holy spirit in our lives?
PSALM 51:1-2 TPT
To the chief Musician, a Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
God, give me mercy from your fountain of forgiveness!
I know your abundant love is enough to wash away my guilt.
Because your compassion is so great, take away this shameful guilt of sin.
Forgive the full extent of my rebellious ways, and erase this deep stain on my conscience.
David sinned against God and have killed Bathsheba's husband
He murdered and committed adultery
God's grace was still upon His life
Give me mercy. Mercy is God's loving-kindness. Should punish but did not punish. He is a righteous Judge and need to punish sin. So He sent Jesus to be punished on our behalf
God is full of abundance love
He went to God based on God's compassion
The prophet is not here to expose our sins
PSALM 51:3-4 TPT
For I’m so ashamed.
I feel such pain and anguish within me.
I can’t get away from the sting of my sin against you, Lord!
Everything I did, I did right in front of you, for you saw it all.
Against you, and you above all, have I sinned.
Everything you say to me is infallibly true and your judgment conquers me.
PSALM 51:5-6 TPT
Lord, I have been a sinner from birth, from the moment my mother conceived me.
I know that you delight to set your truth deep in my spirit.
So come into the hidden places of my heart and teach me wisdom.
Developing the hidden man of the heart, spirit man
PSALM 51:7-8 TPT
Purify my conscience!
Make this leper clean again! Wash me in your love until I am pure in heart.
Satisfy me in your sweetness, and my SONG of JOY will return.
The places you have crushed within me will rejoice in your healing touch.
Song of joy is not just playing instruments.
Worship God from your spirit
David worshipped God from his spirit
PSALM 51:9-10 TPT
Hide my sins from your face; erase all my guilt by your saving grace.
Keep creating in me a clean heart.
Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you.
Holy Spirit restoring our joy of salvation. There is peace first, and there is joy
At the point of conversion, very happy
The cares of this world
This mind does not know what happen of the spirit and starts to think of the wisdom of this world
You all are His sons and daughters
You, who belong to Jesus, you have the heavenly Father
PSALM 51:11 TPT
May you never reject me!
May you never take from me your sacred Spirit!
Psalms 51:11 NLT
Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
He is the wind, the breath and holy spirit of God
Cannot compare with anything of this world
Bathsheba was the wife of another man named Uriah, who was one of David’s fierce and loyal warriors.
Not only did David abuse his position as king to commit adultery with her, he then arranged the death of Uriah to cover his wrongdoing when it became apparent Bathsheba had become pregnant by him.
David was finally forced to admit his guilt when confronted by the prophet Nathan.
With that on his heart, he composed Psalm 51 including this in verses 11 and 12:
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy HOLY SPIRIT from me.
RESTORE unto me the JOY of thy SALVATION; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
The word spirit here is Ruach and the word holy is Kodesh.
This is most often simply stated as RuachHaKodesh or the Holy Spirit.
Why was King David afraid of losing RuachHaKodesh?
What was so important and so valuable about the relationship between them?
Who is Ruach HaKodesh?
RUACH - is most often translated spirit, wind, or breath.
Ruach is spelled ReyshVav Chet.
REYSH is the picture of the HEAD and means the master, the leader, or the prince.
Vav is the picture of the iron nail or the wooden hook and means to fasten or to secure two things that are separated from one another.
Chet is the picture of the fence and means to separate,
to protect, or to cut off, and can be a sanctuary.
Ancient Hebrew
Modern Hebrew
The first thing we can discover in these pictographs is that in Ruach there is a LEADER who will connect us to a fence or boundaries that are intended to protect and provide sanctuary.
Who will these boundaries be protecting and how will anyone know what these boundaries are?
The fence is like boundary of a person
HaKodesh is actually two words, Ha which is the, and Kodesh which is translated apartness, holiness, sacredness, or separateness.
HaKodesh is spelled Hey QoofDalet Sheen.
HEY is the picture of the man with uplifted arms and means TO BEHOLD, to pay attention to what follows, to reveal, or the Holy Spirit as the REVELATOR.
QOOF is the picture of the back of the head and means the least, the last, or behind.
DALET is the picture of the door and means a doorway,
a place of decision, a place where change can take place,
or an entrance to life or death.
SHEEN is the picture of teeth and means to press, to consume, or to destroy, and is the one letter God uses to identify Himself.
Ancient Hebrew
Modern Hebrew
We are told in the pictographs to behold something or to pay attention to what follows.
What follows is Kodesh.
Someone unworthy, the least, is being brought through a doorway to a place where God will identify Himself.
Going through this doorway will set this unworthy person apart from those not entering this special place before God.
He is going to be granted access that he is obviously not able to provide on his own merit.
This leader can do this because He Himself is Kodesh.
Know what is in the kingdom realm
When we put the pictographic messages in the two words together, we arrive at this conclusion: the title RUACH HAKODESH is given to:-
the LEADER who intends to join us to clear boundaries which will allow the least of us to be set apart and invited to pass through a doorway into a place where God will identify Himself to us.
Spiritual door. They could not go in yet
Who is the leader from the pictographs and how does this leader work to show us those boundaries?
This leader first appears in- Genesis 1:2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the SPIRIT (RUACH) of GOD moved upon the face of the waters.
Speak by His stripe we are healed
This leader, here called the SPIRIT of GOD, is literally the WIND of GOD or the BREATH of GOD and was instrumental in the creation account.
In the ancient world soul and spirit are both frequently denoted by wind or breath and we can see that this Spirit was indeed God.
Besides being CO-CREATOR, what else does this remarkable unnamed leader do?
JOHN 14:26 KJV
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
JOHN 14:26 TPT
But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me WHO SETS you FREE, he will teach you all things in my name.
And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you.
G3875 Comforter
Original: παράκλητος
Transliteration: paraklētos
Phonetic: par-ak'-lay-tos
Thayer Definition:
summoned, called to one's side, especially called to one's aid,
one who pleads another's cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate
one who pleads another's cause with one, an intercessor
of Christ in his exaltation at God's right hand, pleading with
God the Father for the pardon of our sins
in the widest sense, a helper, succourer, aider, assistant
of the Holy Spirit destined to take the place of Christ with the apostles (after his ascension to the Father), to lead them to a deeper knowledge of the gospel truth, and give them divine strength needed to enable them to undergo trials and persecutions on behalf of the divine kingdom
Strong's Definition: An INTERCESSOR, consoler:- ADVOCATE, comforter.
Here RuachHaKodesh is called the Comforter, which is the word used for the ADVOCATE who goes before the judge on behalf of someone to plead his case.
RUACH HAKODESH as the ADVOCATE of all those who follow Messiah:
ROMANS 8:1 NLT
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
This leader, who comes from the Father at the request of Jesus,
will teach us all things.
This will certainly include the boundaries established by the Father that is intended for our protection, just as we saw in the pictographs.
Immerse in the water and immerse in the spirit
Now we can see why King David wanted so much to preserve his relationship with Ruach HaKodesh.
ROMANS 8:11 NLT
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
This leader, RuachHaKodesh, has wanted all along to DEMONSTRATE HIS POWER IN YOUR LIFE,
not only to GUIDE and TEACH YOU how to walk after Christ Jesus
but to also one day by His power RAISE YOU from the dead to dwell for eternity with the Heavenly Father.
JOHN 3:8 NLT
The wind blows wherever it wants.
Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”
YOCHANAN 3:8 TOJB2011
The ruach (wind, Spirit) blows where it wishes, and the sound of it you hear, but you do not have da'as of where it comes from and where it goes; so it is with everyone having been born of the RUACH HAKODESH.
ACTS 2:2-4 TPT
SUDDENLY they heard the SOUND of a violent blast of WIND rushing into the house from out of the heavenly realm.
The roar of the wind was so OVERPOWERING it was all anyone could bear!
Then all at once a pillar of FIRE appeared before their eyes.
It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them.
They were all FILLED and EQUIPPED with the HOLY SPIRIT and were inspired to speak in tongues—EMPOWERED by the SPIRIT to SPEAK in languages they had never learned!
When the wind comes, than the fire come
Everything supernatural will happen when the holy spirit is in our midst
Expect Him.
